Atomic Maria statue on Display

To commemerate the 50th anniversary of the bombing of Nagaski, a statue of Maria scorched by atomic power will be on display. I find this interesting because a while back I wrote a short micro fiction piece called Maria, which Mike also did some sketches for. What's most eerie about it is that the Japanese Maria has hollowed out eyes, much like the Maria in the story. Weird bit of synchronity, don't you think?
